RAPID PROTOTYPING

UNIQUE PIECES IN SERIES QUALITY

This generative manufacturing method has now become a firm part of the development phase. Whether these be connecting parts, caps or mountings – wherever a plastic part is needed in the later series production, it is initially imitated by a rapid prototype during prototyping. The Selective-Laser-Sintering process (SLS) is predominantly used with a fine polyamide as a material.

The situation is similar for cast parts: O|M|T has CNC milling machines to process steel and aluminium. These are used during prototyping to imitate parts that will later be realised as cast parts during series production.
